Aswarby Estate’s Forestry Department is located in the village of Aswarby. We manage three hundred and fifty acres of diverse woodland, comprising mainly hardwoods such as Oak, Ash and Beech. A sustainable management plan is utilised to ensure the future of the woodland on the estate with regular coppicing, pruning and replanting.



Logs:
The Sawmill at Aswarby offers responsibly sourced home grown and seasoned hardwood firewood logs. We have a purpose built building on site for naturally seasoning logs which ensures we can deliver ‘ready to use’ logs of premium quality. These logs are processed by us and are ideal for use in all types of appliances such as wood burners, open fires and multi fuel burners.

Delivery: We offer delivery within 10 miles of Aswarby, please call for a quotation should you require delivery outside this area.

Christmas Trees:

During the festive period we also offer a ‘pick your own’ Christmas tree service. This personal approach allows customers to view and select a variety of home grown trees. This service is available from the 27th November annually.

Woodchip:

Our experienced Forestry team process local timber as part of our sustainable woodland management plan. This woodchip is then transported to our drying facilities where we ensure consistent moisture content.
Our woodchip is processed to a G30 or G50 specification with chip having a maximum cross sectional area of up to 3cm2 to 5cm2. Moisture content of our chip is typically an industry standard of between 25% and 30% moisture.

Aswarby Sawmill is registered on the Governments Biomass Suppliers List (BSL) as an approved supplier of woodchip. We are able to offer a personal service whilst our Sawmill facilities enable us to supply a wide spectrum of customers.

Bespoke:

Our skilled Forestry department have great expertise in operating Aswarby’s sawmill. We can offer bespoke cuts of timber should you require it.
